January Favourites 2016

January Favourites 2016

Isn’t it crazy that time is passing so fast? I still remember the New Year’s Eve like yesterday and now we are at the end of January. It feels like time passes quickly once you get older. When I was a kid, I was complaining about how slow time’s passing and now here we are, I am still complaining, but this time with the opposite. Since January is over, I’d like to share my January Favourites. January was kinda a lazy month for me. Because of the snowy and freezing weather, except going to work, I stayed home most of the time and I didn’t use so many new makeup products,  so I am talking about a mix of everything from beauty to tech.

My January Favourites 2016

Dove Derma Spa Goodness3 Body Lotion

This body lotion was one of the most used products throughout January. It is really lightweight and my skin absorbs is quickly, so I don’t have to worry about it getting to my clothes. If you’d like to read more about this lotion please check out my post Dove Derma Spa Goodness3 Body Lotion.

Vaseline Lip Therapy

Winter is not only harsh to my skin, but also my lips. If I go out without applying lip balm, then my lips will be dry as Sahara and I will end up peeling my lips (I know it is horrible). I always carry Vaseline in my bag, it is one of the trusted products that I can rely on. It is one of the best lip products for winter.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

This is the second lip product in my January Favourites. It is my first and only product from NYX. I wasn’t sure how good the quality would be, but I am really impressed with it. It feels soft on the lips, and Ibiza is such a pretty shade. You can read more about it in my post NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream.

theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer

It was in my wishlist for so long and finally I purchased it at the beginning of January and I’ve been using it since then. I am so pale at the moment (I don’t use fake tanning products after turning orange a few times), so this one gives me the colour I need and I use it for contouring too.

Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner

I wasn’t a fan of this eyeliner in summer as my eyelids get oily quickly, so it wasn’t really long lasting and it was smudging easily. I gave it an another try in winter and I am happy with the result. Felt tip liners are my favourite, this one kinda looks like Stila All Day Waterprood Liquid Eyeliner. It is easy to apply, and the colour is intense as well. You can check out my post Let’s Talk Eyeliner to find out more about it.

Rimmel London Salon Pro Nail Polish

It has been one of my most worn nail polishes since Autumn. I really don’t know how I will stop wearing Berry Nails. I have it in the shade of 403 Hypnotise, which is a pretty berry shade. Formula of this nail polish is great, and it doesn’t chip easily (at least for me).

Garnier Fructis Flexible Hold Volumising Hairspray

If you have a dead, straight and flat hair, then you will know how hard it is to style it and give it some volume. I am always on the hunt for a hairspray, which won’t smell bad and will give me that volumised look as well as holding my curls. This one is good at holding the style without making my hair hard, and it smells better than most of the hairsprays. What’s your favourite hairspray?

Nikon WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter

To end up my January Favourites, I want to talk about that little device. If you don’t have a flip screen camera and you don’t have your camera cable with you then you will know the struggle of taking photos of yourself or the photos of products depending on how you place your camera. This little device will connect to your smart device (phone, tablet etc) and you can see the image live on your device. Think that you’re outside and taking a group photo, and you don’t know if the camera is focused. Also, it is great for selfies and you can easily check your photos instantly on a bigger screen. If you have a Nikon too then you should check out this little device on Amazon.

These are the things I’ve been enjoying in January. Have you tried any of these products before? What do you have in your January Favourites?

  • The mobile adapter is such a great invention! I use an app to check if I am in the screen with my Iphone, but the wifi-connection is pretty slow sometimes.

    • since I can’t find my cable, it comes really handy.

  • Love the Dove cream, I have been using it since your previous review and had great results. It seems to be lasting ages too! Gemma x

    Candice | Beauty Candy Loves

  • I’m the same, I always use Vaseline when the weather’s cold! It does wonders and is obviously a great price. I also got a NYX Lip Cream and I really like it. It’s so soft and hydrating, considering it’s matte.

    • It feels so soft on the lips, and I’m happy that it is not drying at all.

  • That eyeliner seems really great, I may need to pick that up. That little device sounds perfect! I definitely need to check that out.

    • It is good, I’m sure it would be even more long lasting, if I didn’t have oily eye lids.

  • I’ve never heard of the Nikon wireless mobile adapter. It sounds like a great gadget.

  • Siffat Haider

I recently started using NYX and have been in love with the brand ever since – I can’t believe what I was missing out on!

    • I feel the same way. I really like how soft it feels on the lips xx

  • I have not tried any of these products but thanks for sharing! I actually don’t have any new products that I tried in January. I also can’t believe how fast January flew by!

  • I can’t believe that we are in Feb already, time flies when you are having fun 🙂 I love the Rimmel nail polish and I am wearing one of the shades today myself 🙂

    Pams Stuff and Things

  • For me too January has been a lazy month. I guess we’re not motivated by the weather and the fact that there’s actually nothing super exciting happening in January! The Rimmel nail polish is really pretty, I’ve never tried their shades but I have their base and top coat and it’s great. Dove body lotions are often really good, I’ll have to try this one! Thanks for sharing 🙂

Last post: Undress Your Makeup?! | http://juliaspeaksbeauty.blogspot.fr/2016/01/undress-your-makeup.html

    • My January was quite boring, all I did was working but nothing else. This rimmel nail polish is really long lasting so I don’t need to worry about it chipping 🙂 x

  • I feel like January took months to pass by, I absolutely hated it. So it’s finally February and I know it’s going to be a great month. So I’m happy for it.

I haven’t tried many of those products, but I remember being younger and absolutely addicted to Dove! I feel like nowadays it’s a brand not many people remember exists but at the same, one they pass by in the supermarket and think “oh I love that”. I’m using a Portuguese brand lotion wise, and that too is very quick and simple to put on.

I also use vaseline on the lips every night! I love the feel of them in the morning, they’re always so soft.

And wow, I didn’t know about the Nikon adapter? But I wish I did before! Might have to get it for myself. That always comes in handy.

    Ella Pinto xx

    • My January was quite boring, I didn’t really have anything exciting but work. I hope February will be a better one, I hate boring routines.
Dove have some amazing products, I guess the first product I used from dove was a soap then others. This one feels so soft on the skin which I really like.

  • Roberta Romeo

That Nyx lipstick color is sooo amazing!! *-*
I have to try that Maybelline eyeliner!

  • NYX matte lipsticks are simply amazing and I really need to try Dove Derma Spa products, everyone seems to have taken a liking in them 🙂 x

    -Leta | The Nerdy Me

    • I am a fan of this lip cream, it feels so soft on the lips. Derma spa range is fab, I would highly recommend it:) x

  • Vaseline is a must have this time of the year! I apply it every night before bed to help my poor chapped lips. TheBalm bronzer sounds lovely, I’ve currently got the Mary Loumanizer on my wishlist (which I think you also did a post on?) when I’m in-store next I’ll have to swatch this. It sucks being so pale sometimes!
Also, the Nyx lippies are ah-mazing!

    • Vaseline is my bestie at the moment, I can’t go a day without applying it. You should definitely check out theBalm products, they are good and I’m sure you’d like them. x

  • I love the Maybelline eyeliner as well, it’s not mentioned often enough! Thanks for sharing! x

  • Great list, thanks for sharing. I will have to check out the Rimmel London nail varnish. I also love Vaseline products. I used their aerosol spray lotion last year and liked it a lot. One of my Jan. favourites is the Marc Jacobs highliner (eyeliner) crayon. I love it so much. 🙂 /Madison x

  • clara mcmillan

Vaseline is such a great brand!

    God bless,

    XO, Claire

  • Vaseline is so useful, you don’t realise how much so until you’ve ran out like I have currently! I’m addicted to the little pink lip butter one (can’t remember it’s name, I just know the packaging) and I’m sooo sad I’ve ran out. Need to get a new one ASAP.

    Alexandra | alyspace.co.uk

I have heard that Vaseline is great for lips! Especially in winter, my lips get s dry I’m always using more lip balm then. Luca’s paw paw is my go-to year round and I always have at least one tube near me at any time, haha. I use it for everything really, not just my lips.

I also purchased the Bahama Mama about a week ago and I’m so much in love. I love the shade and it’s basically a life saver this time of the year 😀
    Great post hon <3
    Emma xxx

    • I wish Master Precise was smudge proof, but oh well I like how easy it is to get that perfect eyeliner 🙂 Ah last night I saw your video using the Bahama Mama and it looks beautiful on your skin 🙂

  • I really love the Rimmel Lycra Polishes, they have an amazing formula xx

Gemma ♥ | Miss Makeup Magpie

  • I love the Maybelline Master Precise liner! I stopped using it for a while last year because I got the Kat Von D liner. I think both are very comparable. Kat Von D’s liner gives more precision but the Maybelline Master Precise liner is much more black and bold.

    • I still haven’t tried any KVD products, I’d love to try the eyeliner, I’ve heard a lot about it.

  • Charlotte

I haven’t tried any Garnier hair products, I’ve always thought of them as a hair care brand so I’ll have to see what products they have to offer, especially this hairspray!
    Charlotte // charlottespicks.blogspot.com

    • I love the smell of their hair care range, it is great!

  • I need to try the Maybelline Master Precise liner! I currently use the Stila Stay All Day one, but love finding more inexpensive liquid eyeliners. My favorite from the drugstore has to be the NYC liquid eyeliner!

Nida | Caked To The Nines

    • I’ve read a few reviews about it being similar to Stila one, so you should check it out. x

  • lauragale94

Definitely need to try that liner and some NYX lip creams! I didn’t really have many favourites in January, just the same old products I’ve been using over and over xx

Laura | Lala London: Beauty & Lifestyle

    • NYX lip creams are amazing, I’d highly recommend it! I love the velvety finish and how long lasting it is. x

  • Now that Boots stock them, I`ll definitely try some NYX lipsticks, I read only good things about them. Also, the eyeliner sounds great, I`ll check that out when I finish my current one.

    • Definitely check out the lip creams. Formula is amazing, and I love the velvety finish 🙂 x

Iqra | The Blushing Giraffe x

    • Totally agree with you, the formula is amazing 🙂 xx
