Nail Polish Trends You Should Try In 2016

Nail Polish Trends Spring Summer 2016

Do you care about your nails as much as you care about your makeup or skincare? I assume most of us don’t do anything more than applying nail polish. Good looking nails can boost your confidence, so why don’t we see nail polish as an accessory? Getting out of the comfort zone and trying new things, new colours can be a good start. Metallic or pastel nails, which nail polish trends will you be willing to try out this year?

Nail Polish Trends for 2016

These are the nail polish trends for spring/summer 2016 you should definitely try out…

Pastels

Every year trends changes, however, there are some staples that always stay the same like pastel nails in spring&summer. It is time to leave behind berries and burgundies and brighten up the manicure routine. If you can’t decide on which pastel colours to go for, checkΒ Pantone Colour of the Year, beside Rose Quartz and Serenity, there are so many pretty colours like Lavender Fog and Sphinx, which is like a mixture of grey and pink.

Nude Nails

Nude nails are always on the spot light. They don’t only look elegant, they are also a safe choice. Most of the time chipped nail polish won’t be noticed and nude nails are perfect if you are going for a natural look.

Colourful French

Colourful french is one of the major trends this year! Vibrant tips might not be your thing, but this trend deserves a shot. If you like to keep things simple and always have french manicure, then why don’t do try to add colour to it? Applying bright colours on the tips and keeping the rest plain gives such a beautiful and different finish. If you didn’t try it yet, you should definitely think about it!

Metallic Nails

Metallic nails used to be a big thing some years agoΒ and now they are back again. Gold, silver, chrome… There are so many alternatives. If you get tired of pastel nails, pick a duochrome nail polish like Wet n Wild Gray’s Anatomy.Β Once in awhile change is good, it makes things better!

A Little Bit of Glitter

Adding a little bit of glitters to life can be fun. Who wouldn’t like shiny sparkling nails?Β Either you apply it as a top coat or on its own, definitely give glitters a try! Pinks and blues can be the perfect picks for spring&summer nail polish trends!

Matte Nails

Matte nails are not for everyone, some love it and some absolutely hate it. If you want to give this trend a try, but you don’t want to get a matte nail polish, it is best to pick up a matte top coat then you can turn every nail polish into matte one and if you don’t like it then you can just stop using it. Instead of applying matte nail polish to every nail, only applying it to ring fingers look really cool.

What do you think about these nail polish trends? Which would be your favourite?

    Have a lovely day dear!

    • Pastel nails are my favourite, they are beautiful πŸ™‚
      Have a lovely week!

  • I’m getting more and more into nude nails, it goes with everything and it is usually quicker to do as well! I don’t really like matte nails, but only use a matte top coat as an accent nail is a good idea!

    http://fannyanddailybeauty.com

    • When I don’t feel like doing much, nude nails are what I go for, they are really low maintenance! I am not really into mattes either but once in awhile for a chance, it is good.

  • This has definitely inspired me to want to start painting my nails again! For the whole of Autumn/Winter, I don’t think I painted my nails at all lol. But the Spring/Summer always gets me out of my mazy funk. I definitely think I’m going to gravitate towards the pastel and nude nails. But I love the idea of having a matte accent nail too.:)

      • Great thing is my hair is that straight you don’t really notice if I didn’t brush it πŸ˜‰

  • I love pastel shades on my nails during Spring πŸ™‚ I will try to do colourful French mani I think, I always like the look of it when I see it on Instagram or Pinterest πŸ™‚ x

    • Glitters are pretty however removing them is the pain…

  • I love this shot! I’m definitely eyeing up some pastels this year as I always do and never seem to pick any up. Definitely eyeing the Formula X collab with Aimee Song at Sephora for those. And I agree with the matte top coat – when I discovered that I thought it was perfect as you could then wear your existing nail polishes two ways!

    Cindy | http://www.cindyhyue.com

    • Lately all I’ve been wearing is pastel nails, they are perfect for this time of year! Matte top coat is way better than buying a matte nail polish!

  • Nude nails and classic french tip have always been my favorites. I love how effortless they look, yet stunning and beautiful for any outfit.

  • Ohhh colorful french sounds fun! You’re so right though I usually just wear a solid color and then go crazy with my makeup. It doesn’t help that I have super shaky hands! I love pastels and nude nails are probably my favorite (because they’re so low maintenance!)

    • When I know I will have a busy week, I go for nudes. Nudes are safe choice and pastels are my favourite!

  • I’ve always wanted to try the matte french tip nails, kind of a mix of both nail trends and it is absolutely beautiful! Really such a bummer that I still have not met a nail salon that carries matte nail polishes!
