Vichy Dermablend – Achieve Flawless Skin

Vichy Dermablend Corrective foundation claims to cover any skin problem and last for 12 hours. Vichy Dermablend setting powder is made for this foundation and when both used together, it claims to last for 16 hours.

Don’t you hate it when you have plans and your skin ends up breaking down? It seems to happen a lot when there’s something important coming up, that’s why it is best to have at least one foundation which you can rely on. Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation claims to cover any skin problem, it is a big claim isn’t it?

Whenever season changes or I have stressful time, I have skin problems. I am sure it happens to many of us. Even the best skincare products can’t seem to help with this problem straight away. Then the best thing we can do it rely on makeup to achieve the flawless skin, right?

I’ve had Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation* for months, however due to picking the wrong shade, I couldn’t use it until I got some tan. Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation claims to give long lasting full coverage, does it live upto its claims?

It definitely gives full coverage and It will cover the blemishes and any imperfections, it will cover anything. What else can you ask from a foundation? It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, especially the ones who don’t like full coverage foundations. You only need a tiny amount to work with and good thing is texture doesn’t feel heavy. I use damp beauty blender to apply this foundation, I think it gives better flawless finish than the brush, also with the blender it is easier to control how much you apply.

Even though it claims to last 12 hours and 16 hours with the setting powder, due to my oily skin, I feel like I need to powder after 5-6 hours(doesn’t really look shiny, more on dewey side), it is still good as most of the time after a few hours my makeup just melts.

One of the things I think needs improvement is the colour range. There are 8 shades in the range and if you are in between shade then you won’t be happy with the colour range. Also, bare in mind that it has spf35 so if you get your photo taken then there will probably be flashback. No to ghost face, please! Also it might not be the best foundation to use in summer as in time it will feel heavy.

I love translucent powders, because they give flawless and non-cakey finish. Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder* is specially made for Vichy Dermablend Corrective foundation. Apparently it will improve the longevity of the foundation and I can confirm that it actually does. It also works with my other foundations, so it is a win win for me! This setting powder is lightweight and has really fine particles, so you won’t get that powdery finish. You can easily overdo it with this powder, so if you ever apply more than you should, wait a few minutes for it to set, then use a big powder brush to get rid of excessive powder.

Have you tried any products from Vichy Dermablend range? What’s your favourite high coverage foundation?

  • I’m really tempted by this foundation. I’ve heard so many positive reviews. I don’t wear full coverage foundations often but it’s nice to have the option. x

    • I don’t often use full coverage foundations too but when my skin is not good then it comes handy. It’s good, highly recommend it x

  • Although it’s a pretty big claim, I’m pleased to hear it does what it says on the tin! As you’ve said full coverage isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, though I suppose it becomes that way when skin may be playing up! Fab review Ela 🙂

    • I prefer lighter foundations in summer or let’s say in general, but it is good to have a full coverage option 🙂 x

  • I’ve heard a lot about this range of products… I would really love to try some of these… My skin is normal to combination, so I shouldn’t have problems with powdering too soon 😀

I’ve actually got a Vichy Dermablend on my dressing table, waiting to try out! I only worry about the colour match, as you say! That said, I like that you only need a small amount to get good coverage!

    Musings & More

    • I got the wrong shade so it was sitting on my table for 4-5 months. Except the shade range, I like the coverage it gives.

  • Love how nuanced this post and you listed both good and negative aspects. Annoying though that it only lasts half of the promised time, but love that it covers anything! Xx

    • I have oily skin so most of the foundations don’t last long so I’m used to that x

  • Yes I completely agree! When I’m about to film a make-up tutorial, I seem to get the most annoying blemish. That I know I wouldn’t have if I wasn’t filming lol. I really want to try this foundation as it sounds like a complete life saver. I think that I would use a tiny amount like you said. I also have combination skin, so I don’t think any foundation can look too ‘cakey’ on me. The oils always seen to make my foundations look dewy haha. Thank you for the honest review Ela. I love that you’ve said both the positive and negative aspects.:)

I have their dermablend stick for covering up my acne scars and while I love it because it covers entirely, I find it often actually breaks me out too because it doesn’t let my skin breathe so that’s my negative for it.

    Raindrops of Sapphire

  • This is exactly what is happening right now – a lot going on, so my skin isn’t behaving! It’s so difficult to control once the skin beaks out, so a good foundation always helps. This one sounds great, especially for the winter time, when we could do with a higher coverage foundation. I’d already heard good things about it, so I’ll have to check out the shades in the future to see if I can find something that would suit me – you are right, eight shades is rather poor, it must be hard to get the perfect colour unfortunately.

  • A very informative review on this foundation by Vichy, for me I don’t opt for heavy foundations although I do like a medium-full coverage, I tend to opt for products which don’t ‘feel’ heavy on the skin, Charlotte Tilbury for example has a wonderful foundation which is matte.

I do like the Vichy brand and use one of their serums, but haven’t tried their foundations yet.

  • This is a brilliant review, Ela and I totally get what you mean with our skin acting up right before an event, mine is the same! Perfect skin for a few months and right before I have to attend an event, pop comes the pimple. Sooooo annoying! LOL!

It won’t be a surprise to you that this is not my cup of tea as I stay away from anything full coverage, even medium coverage can be too much for me sometimes. That said, I like the sounds of the setting powder, I have been using more powders these days just to set my concealer.

Even better that it has such a high SPF as I find that when I put sunscreen under my foundation, it tends to end up in my eyes! The powder sounds fab too. • Most of the foundations don’t last long on me so any foundation that lasts more than 5 hours is good for me!

  • I usually use Bare Minerals powder foundation. But I’ve wanted to change for a while. Only problem is my skin gets super irritated any time I change my makeup so I’ve been hesitant. I love a good color corrector for helping cover up acne. But I’ve gotta see if this really does give flawless coverage. For me, I’m always hesitant to apply too much that I end up applying too little. And I don’t get that flawless coverage look. I need to be a bit more heavy handed with my coverage I guess.
