Foundations are great for covering any skin problems and basically give us a second skin. Don’t you think that our skin also need some foundation free days too? If you can’t go a day without applying a foundation, then at least do you go for a lighter one or still use that heavy coverage one? In this post I will talk about Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude, a foundation I really like.

Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation Review

If I wear foundation a lot during the week due to work, then I make sure to apply as little as possible at the weekends. Summer is going to end soon and I didn’t want to end it without talking about my most used foundation in this summer. It was released back in January I guess and I got it when it was first released because the name was so appealing… Flawless Nude… However, it wasn’t until the beginning of summer that I’ve started using it constantly, as most of my foundations aren’t really for hot summer days.

Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation is a liquid foundation and feels really light. I don’t get that oily, heavy feeling when I use it. It makes the skin feel silky and flawless, but also gives such a natural look. Blending is easy and it gives light to medium coverage. Also, it is absorbed so quickly, which I like the most. Then there’s that wand, which makes the application easy. If you don’t want to get your hands dirty, you can just swipe it on your face and then use your brush.

Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation

I have oily skin and it works on my skin well most of the time, but I wouldn’t recommend it to people who have really dry skin. Once I had a dry patch (sometimes I get them even though my skin is really oily, weird…) and it didn’t look right, so I had to clean my makeup because of that. So according to my experience I can say it is ideal for normal to oily skin.

What’s your favourite drug store foundation for summer?

    • Evet ne yazikki her urunu Turkiye’ye getirmiyorlar. Belirli bi sure Ingiltere’de yasayip Turkiye’ye gelince bunun ne kadar kotu oldugunu anliyor insan.

  • I try to give my skin some rest on the weekends too. I think it’s very important to give your skin some time to breathe.
This is a very nice review! Thank you!

    • Thank you so much 🙂 If I don’t have anything to do then my skin is always foundation free, best feeling ever 🙂 xx

  • I normally use a lightweight foundation or BB cream and then go back in with a high-coverage concealer (like Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage) ONLY where I need it. From the drugstore, I quite like Maybelline BB Cream for oily skin, have you ever tried it?

    • I tried Garnier one but not Maybelline. I might also give it a try as lightweight products are great for hot days x

  • Actually I don’t use foundation at all…sometimes I use a mattifying mousse and/or powder. Though I must say I really enjoyed your review. Happy sunday sweetie!

    • Mattifying mousse and powder are also really good. Thank you and have a great night x

  • This foundation sounds great, but as I have extremely dry skin I don’t think it would be for me unfortunately! Great review!

    • It is a good one but yeah don’t give it a try. I had a bad experience with dry patch so it wouldn’t be good. Thank you so much 🙂 xx

  • I enjoy powder foundations or BB creams. Drugstore is a tough question, maybe the Garnier BB Cream. I liked it, but it wasn’t among my all-time favorites.

Libra, Loca: Beauty, Baby and Backpacking

    • BB creams are good for summer days too, anything light is perfect for me. I used Garnier BB cream too and it wasn’t bad at all. x

      • No it wasn’t bad, it was okay. But okay isn’t enough to make me repurchase.

  • Sounds really good! Beautiful pictures <3

  • I’ve used this before, sometimes it works wonders but not so much when my skin is having a drier day!

    Hannah | Heyitshannaah

    • Definitely agree with you! I had the same problem before but still when I don’t have any problem it is a good one x

  • Brianna Degaston

What a lovely post my dear! You are just amazing and I am in awe with your blog 🙂 xo

  • SHANEL .

I don’t really use foundation, I just use the kiko concealer. If i do need to use a foundation then I just go for a BB cream. Lovely post !

Love the simple, high quality images! I love to use BB cream on everyday bases when I don’t have a time to apply foundation. ..

  • I love your photos! I wish I could try this but my skin is always so dry 🙁

    Lauren xx

  • I love their satin foundation which I’ve used as well as this one and they’re both as amazing as each other! Definitely love all Maybelline liquid foundations x

    • I like their other foundations too, Satin is also good xx

  • I’ve used lot’s of Maybelline products in the past and love the whipped foundation but never tried this! Definitely one I’d like to try soon! xx

    Jenny | Krystel Couture

    • Maybelline is good, I like their products. This one just won my heart this summer xx

  • I’ve been looking for a new foundation, and I might have to try this one!

  • Sarah

You just convinced me to try this foundation out, thank you!

  • This foundation sounds amazing! I haven’t ever tried a Maybelline on either. The drugstore foundation that I’ve been going to is L’Oréal’s Infallible Matte foundation. I know it can be quite heavy looking, but I’ve only been using a little and it eliminates any oils what so ever.

    • I like L’Oréal’s Infallible Matte however I mostly prefer it in a/w as my skin gets weird when I use heavy foundations. However using a little is a good idea, when I use it I lose my control and apply too much… shame on me!

  • Hey Ela, I’ve actually heard great things about this one! I’m not sure about the packaging tho. I am really rather clumsy! I’ve been wearing Dior Diorskin Nude Air nonstop this summer! It’s lightweight, easy to apply (I just use my fingers), and it lasts! I think the two formulas could have something in common. Does anyone even remember what we did in summer before these great new foundations came out?

    • I made such mess when I first started to use it however now I am used to it and it is actually really quick to apply. I tried Dior one in the store after reading so many great reviews about it and it is great. Great pick for summer!

  • Corinne C

Ahh, this sounds lovely. It’s a pity I’ve got dry skin! Boo!

    Corinne x

    • Yeah it is lovely but such a pity that it is not really good for dry skin xx

  • labellwong

I love the Borjois foundations (especially the serum foundation or the cc cream). I’ve heard loads of fantastic reviews of this Maybelline one so maybe I’ll pick it up soon xx

    La’bell ||

    • Borjois serum one is great, I ran out of it like spring then haven’t had a chance to repurchase it. If you get it, hope you’ll like it xx

  • Great review, love your photos! I’ve been loving the bb cream instead of foundation since it’s a little lighter for the summer.

    xx Melis

    • Thank you so much. BB creams are great picks for summer, I like them. xx

  • Nice review. I haven’t used any drugstore foundation in a while, mostly because my baby girl attack my face with her kisses and vice versa. But when I go out, I usually use a Korean brand bb cream.

    • Aww she must really love her mummy 🙂 Korean beauty products sound great, just seeing so many reviews about them online x

I tend to have combination skin so I never know quite what to do with foundations as parts of me are oily and parts of me or dry. For this reason I tend to just stay away from foundations all together, haha. Great review though! I am wondering if using this for my oily spots and then using a different concealer for dry spots would work…?

    Rae | Love from Berlin

    • Most of the time I have oily skin except season changes. When I have oily and dry spots together, I tend to mix my foundations. Like light coverage one with a heavy one then I get a really nice base. Maybe you should give it a try too xx

  • That’s such an interesting brush. I have dry-ish skin that turns oily with moisturiser (i just can win haha) so this might not be for me. But I always love reading your reviews!
    xx, Pia

    • Dryish bits is a problem with this foundation, at least in my experience. At first I didn’t really like the brush but then I got used to it.I can put the foundation directly to my face, great for a lazy person like me haha!
Thank you so much 🙂 xx

  • Ellie Adams

I have combination skin so I love the sound of this. I’ve seen so many amazing reviews, need to try this myself! 🙂

    • Well then it would work on your skin 🙂 If you try it, hope you’d like it xx

  • Emily

Now this isn’t a foundation I’ve tried before actually though with dry skin probably not the best idea as you say! :p Lovely post Ela 🙂

    Musings & More

    • You better stay away from it 🙂 Dry skin/dry patches and this foundation would cause such a big disaster X( xx

  • I have oily skin too so would love to sample this foundation!

  • Sarah

I love your pictures! I have never tried this foundation but on the other hand I do have combination skin so it might work with my skin, what do you think?

    • I think it would be good for combination skin, you just need to make sure you don’t have any dry bits then everything would be just fine:) Thank you so much 🙂 xx

  • I think Bourjois is still my most favorite drugstore foundation. Never tried the one from maybelline, thanks for the recommendation!

    Oh Dear Bumblebees

    • Bourjois has great foundations and there are some I really like xx

  • I think my skin would be way too dry for this!!

    Makeup Monster

  • It sounds pretty good. I’m using the Infallible foundation by Loreal right now which is just to heavy for summer (:
    Nati xx

    • I like Infallible but mostly use it in a/w, with oily skin it is best to go for light products in summer 🙂 xx

  • I’ve never tried this formula but I was afraid it wouldn’t be enough coverage. I usually go Foundation free on Sundays unless I’m going out somewhere. 🙂

Beauty Isles | An Island Girl’s Beauty and Lifestyle Blog

    • It is a light coverage one and if you don’t really like light coverage then you wouldn’t like this one too. Foundation free is great 🙂 xx

  • I’m always looking for good foundation for my skin, and since I’m also oily this might be perfect for me. Thank you

    • It works good on my skin so it might be good on yours too x

  • Winfred

    great product review

I’m sure maybelline would be proud to hear they’ve produced a great foundation to use

  • India Benjamin

This was a really lovely review, and your photography is crystal clear! I alternate between foundation, CC creams and bare skin to stop my skin from feeling overloaded. If you get dry patches, it might be your skin is dehydrated (it’s different to oily). Could be worth you using an oil or cream based cleanser and serum overnight to rehydrate your skin, doing this actually made mine less oily 🙂

  • I love their mascaras but haven’t tried this before but i have an oily skin too so it might be worth the try. Great review.

  • I have this foundation, and I love it. I have extremely dry skin, but I find if I use a silicone primer and a damp beauty blender that the dry patches aren’t as bad. 🙂
    Jenny // Mish Mosh Makeup

    • Damp beauty blender is a great helper, perfect for applying foundation 🙂

  • I love the concept of this formula! Can’t wait to try it!

I was really put off by this just from throwbacks of the Matte Mouse from 2000s lol, but I may need to try it out next time I’m in boots 🙂

    • It is not bad for that price, it works good on my skin 🙂 just test it when you’re in boots and see if you like it 🙂 xx

  • Emma F

I’ll call this one my “drug store foundation for the summer” as well! Have worn it almost all summer and I love how light it feels. It feels like wearing nothing at all, tbh!

    Emma xx

    • Definitely agree with you, it is really light and it looks really good xxx

  • Samileen

I wish I could love this foundation, I love the feel of this it’s so light but unfortunately not for me, it catches on the dry spots, enhances them, not cute..

    Sam || Beautydetour

    • That’s shame… It definitely catches the dry spots and it is so annoying. You better stay away from it x

  • Emily Valentine Parr

i tried this and it was horrendous – I do have dry skin though. I think this is strictly for oily skin only! xx

    • It is definitely not for dry skin. Even tiny dry patches would be such a big problem with this one xx

  • I also have oily skin (esp. in the summer) and I love this foundation so much! Agree it’s not great with dry patches, I always make sure I’m well moisturized between my eyebrows where I do get a dry patch before I put this one. 🙂

    • Great trick, that’s what I do when I have some dry areas and it always works without causing any shiny look! xx
