I have been using Philip Kingsley Elasticizer for some years now and I don’t think I will stop anytime soon. Having oily hair means not many products will work for your hair. Some pre-shampoo treatments can weigh down your hair, however, when you find one that works, you never let it go! M&S Advent Calendar brings the scented Philip Kingsley Pomegranate & Cassis Elasticizer to my routine so I can achieve Luscious locks

Do you want to add elasticity, manageability, bounce and shine to your hair whilst the uplifting notes of pomegranate, cassis, and spicy undertones of ginger and nutmeg leave your senses rejuvenated and energized? Well, then you will need Philip Kingsley Pomegranate & Cassis Elasticizer in your life! I’ve been using elasticizer for a few years now and always keep one travel size in my travel bag. Just in case my hair needs some love and care when I am away. 40 ml travel size is good for quite a few uses!

It is the first time I’ve used the scented Elasticizer and I love it! Philip Kingsley Pomegranate & Cassis Elasticizer is infused with the rich pomegranate and sweet cassis which smells absolutely gorgeous and lingers around. Also, it is not overwhelming! That would be the perfect hair perfume scent! They should really consider bringing one out.

How to use it? It is a pre-shampoo treatment so you need to apply it before your haircare routine. Just dampen your hair and apply Philip Kingsley Pomegranate & Cassis Elasticizer in sections to mid-lengths and ends, make sure that you cover all your hair. I usually cover my hair with the shower cap and either enjoy a nice bath or just get on my daily routine. For the best result, you will need to leave it on at least 10-20 minutes. I leave it longer when I am not in hurry.

End of my hair tends to get fragile and dry, whenever I have my elasticizer routine, it gets soft and shiny. Apparently you can even sleep in elasticizer, however, I’ve never done it so I don’t know how the result would be for oily hair. Once you think your session is over, you can carry on washing your normal routine with shampoo and conditioner. Depending on your hair’s needs, you can use it 1 or 2 times a week.

Philip Kingsley Pomegranate & Cassis Elasticizer is £34 for 150 ml. It is on the expensive side, however, the result is really satisfying, it transforms the hair and that bottle would last you for a while. Would I recommend it? Yes, I cannot recommend it enough! One thing to keep in mind, even though it is suitable for all hair types if you are thinking about dying your hair then do not use it 3-4 days before it or 1-2 weeks after dying it. I heard that it might strip the colour down if you use it after having fresh dye. Dear fellow oily haired friends, if you need extra shine on your hair give this a try!
